Mental Health is often considered unimportant. People prioritize other things until it's too much to handle and they can't take it anymore. It's important to have constant checks on your mental well-being and take time for yourself whenever you feel overwhelmed. You can take time doing little things that make you happy! Whether that be taking a relaxing shower, watching your favorite movie, or eating food that you love! You are very important, and it is impossible to get things done in a bad mental state. Look at the bright side and keep going! You got this.
Asking for help may seem very difficult at times, especially when you don't know who to confide in. Here are some tips on how to reach out to your trusted ones and ask for help.
Think about your situation:
What do you want from this person? Are they equipped to help you? Are they a good listener? (ex. A knowledgeable adult, sibling or friend)
Choose the right time and place:
When can you comfortably talk to them? Where will you feel comfortable?
How to talk:
Describe what you are going through at the moment, including your feelings and what you are struggling with. Ask for professional help if you feel it is required. Be receptive to their suggestions: they want to help!
Congratulate yourself!
It's not easy to open up to people, you did a great job!
